樊枫 Fan Feng
Fan Feng (b. 1958) was born in Wuhan City and graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Nanjing University of the Arts. He is a member of the China Artists Association, a national first-class artist, a researcher at the Urban Ink Institute of the National Chinese Painting Academy, vice president of the Hubei Chinese Painting Society, vice chairman of the Wuhan Artists Association, and a director of the Art Museum Professional Committee of the China Museums Association. He used to be the director of the Wuhan Art Museum.
汤文选 Tang Wenxuan
Tang Wenxuan (1925-2009), a native of Xiaogan, Hubei Province, graduated from Wuchang Art College in 1949 and later taught at Hubei Art Institute. Since 1965, he has been dedicated to artistic creation at Hubei Institute of Fine Arts. He was proficient in all genres, including figures, landscapes, flowers and birds, animals, insects and fish. He held numerous solo exhibitions both at home and abroad, exerting a significant influence. He was a highly influential Chinese painter and art educator in the Chinese art circle. Before his death, he was a member of the China Artists Association, a first-class artist, and served as the vice chairman of the Hubei Artists Association, the vice president of Donghu Painting and Calligraphy Academy, and the vice president of Hubei Institute of Fine Arts.
邵声明 Shao Shenglang
Shao Shenglang (1931-2014), a native of Xiantao City, Hubei Province, graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He studied under masters such as Ye Qianyu, Jiang Zhaohe, Li Keran and Li Kuchan. Currently, he is a professor at Hubei Institute of Fine Arts, vice president of Hubei Calligraphy and Painting Academy, a member of the Chinese Artists Association, a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, and a member of the Hubei Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. His works have been exhibited in several national art exhibitions and are collected by many art institutions.
鲁慕迅 Lu Muxun
Lu Muxun (1928-2025), also known as Lu Li, had a study named "Youzhu Zhai". He was from Ruzhou, Henan Province. Devoted to the creation of Chinese painting and the research of art theory throughout his life, he also excelled in calligraphy and poetry. His achievements in exploring and innovating Chinese painting have promoted the development of this art form. He was one of the representative painters of contemporary China. He successively held positions such as the art director of the "Changjiang Daily", councilor of the China Artists Association, vice chairman of the Hubei Artists Association, vice president of the Donghu Painting and Calligraphy Academy, and president of the Hubei Ink Painting Academy. He was a first-class artist.
邓少峰 Deng Shaofeng
Deng Shaofeng (1905-1986), styled Bi, also known as Ticang and Liweng, was a native of Wuhan, Hubei Province. In 1927, he was admitted to the Shanghai Art Institute. In 1930, he returned to Wuhan and transferred to the Wuchang Art Institute, graduating the following year. He was proficient in calligraphy and traditional Chinese painting, with a particular expertise in freehand flower-and-bird painting. He was a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association and the Chinese Artists Association. He served as the vice chairman of the Hubei Calligraphers Association, the vice chairman of the Hubei Artists Association, the vice chairman of the Wuhan Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the president of the Donghu Seal Engravers Society.
陈志宏 Chen Zhihong
Chen Zhihong (1913-1990), a native of Hengxian, Guangxi, was of Zhuang ethnicity. He graduated from the Fine Arts College of Guilin, Guangxi in 1942 and was proficient in Chinese painting. In his early years, he studied under Zhao Shao'ang, a renowned flower-and-bird painter of the Lingnan School, and was deeply influenced by him. He was also well-known for his flower-and-bird paintings.
曹立庵 Cao Lian
Cao Li'an (1921-1991), a native of Wuhan, Hubei Province, was born in Wuchang, Hubei. He was a master of calligraphy, painting and seal engraving. In his early years, he received guidance from He Xiangning, Yu Youren, Shen Junru, Liu Yazhi, Guo Moruo and Chen Shuting. He was skilled in both calligraphy and painting, and also excelled in seal engraving. He was a member of the Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association, vice chairman of the Hubei Calligraphers Association, and honorary president of the Donghu Seal Engravers Society.
